GODS broken!
« on: September 01, 2004, 03:34:59 PM »
I recently tried to play my favorite Amiga game, GODS, after a couple of years.  The loading disk works right up to giving the security code, then stops.  Nothing happens after that.

I've tried it on OS 1.3, 2.1 (A500) and 3.9 (A1200), all of which used to run it just fine.

I've emailed Konami and Bitmap Brothers and received no replies. I'd like to get it running again and would appreciate any help someone may give.

Thanks,
6
God made apes, but he used a human to do it.
Man fit the plan, apes are here to prove it.
We can walk like a man, talk like a man, do what humans do.
Yes god made apes but a human supplied the glue.

Anyone have an HD Installed NTSC version of Gods?  I need it. I have th original so don't worry
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

Hi 6,

Gods is one of my all time favorite games too.  I have EVERY version of the game, including the extremely rare PC DOS version of Gods.  The Super Nintendo version of Gods is the best version.  The Amiga version is 2nd best and the Atari ST version is 3rd best.  Gods is one of those Classic Amiga games that requires only 512K of Chip ram.  So if you want to play the game you will need an Amiga 1000 or an Amiga 2000 with a Rev 4 motherboard or an Amiga 500 with a Rev 5 motherboard.  I noticed someone here on Amiga Org is selling an Amiga 500 with a Rev 5 motherboard.  Gods will run on that Amiga computer.  In fact all Classic Amiga games and demos will run on that Amiga 500.

Contact the DoomMaster on the Kali Game Server.  You can usually find him in the Duke Nukem area of Kali.  He is there EVERY DAY.  He goes by other names too like FLY, Jasper, HGC.  Give the DoomMaster a try.  I have always found him to be very helpful.

Ah yes...I remember that sumbish now...he was mean, didn't he light Mad Max's mate when he was stuck in the crashed car? IIRC Toecutter ended up under a truck...

-----------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, speaking of Gods, did anyone ever finish the game Deiverance? I don't have it anymore but I remember it was about par with Gods. I had a disk problem with that, though.

Deliverance features some amazing graphics. Very large sprites, too.

DoomMaster,

I think the Amiga version is the best.  The sound effects are awesome too.  The speed is fast and crisp. The ST version SUCKS !!!  I have not see the PC version but I can't imagine it being better then the Amiga version!?

@TjLaZer

YeeHaw!  someone has it.

@Retrogeek

 I disagree with you on the SNES version.........although the intro is different and kinda cool.the game itself is slightly worse...........as a matter of fact it appears to be a complete transport with no enhancement and then accelerated which makes the character look funny cuz hes walking like fast foward, plus everything that is supposed to be blue is Purple in the SNES version...........I laughed at my friends when they showed me theirs and I showed them mine.

The Amiga version is definitely better and better music. I like the way it plays more on the Amiga.

There are indeed many games that are better on the SNES, Like Joe and Mac, Judge Dredd, UN Squadron, Super Turrican( Looks better but the game sucks)

but Amiga has many games that are also on the SNES but look better on Amiga:  Chaos Engine, Pinball Fantasies, Gods, Another World, Flashback, and others

I have also played Deliverance..........could never get past the first screen....dont even know how?
