WHDLoad Advice! And general Amiga issues NTSC vs PAL
« on: August 01, 2011, 03:47:39 PM »
I ran into multiple problems with some installs, and thought for a long time it was something wrong with my A4000D.

Turns out, it just needed to be set to PAL.

Megalomania, black screen before loading.. fixed with PAL.

Hudson Hawk, the colors were all funky.  Fixed with PAL.

Magic Pockets, it would just sit there at the "Loading" screen forever.

Dragonstone, would load up and get chirping sounds, but never enter the game.  This is what lead me to the PAL issue, since I did manage to find a post about that.

Genetic Species (not WHDLoad), now works with PAL.

The list goes on and on.  I'm still testing out some more of them, but so far all but the Dungeons of Avalon were fixed with PAL (I'll have to see about re-installing that one, to see if I can fix it.)

I would have thought these issues would have popped up in the forums after all these years (trust me, I dug pretty deep for months).

It should have occurred to me long ago, seeing how the majority of games were written in Europe.

Game on, everyone!
