Winuae strange problem
« on: March 23, 2003, 11:35:46 AM »
on my pc, i had an utility to capture windows or entire screens (to make snapshots).

So what i used to do was to run winuae in a small window on top of my windows desktop. I just had to press a key and the screencapture program captured the winuae window and saved it to disk.

But now, something really strange has happened. Since the latest versions of Winuae (822R3 ->), i'm not able to have multitasking anymore. Meaning that if i run Winuae, i can't even press the windows start key (which brings up the start menu). I can't take any screens anymore. It is as if winuae has taken complete control of my windows. I can't get out of the winuae window anymore unless i press Ctrl Alt Delete.

If i remember correctly, this still was possible with 822R4 but it doesn't work anymore. And i don' t know what caused it to not work anymore. Older versions still work (817 for example).

I have tried reinstalling but it doesn't work. Anyone has had this problem?

It seems that my keyboard is disabled. My numlock light turns off everytime that i start winuae. The only key that still seems to work is F12.

WinUAE no longer uses Windows for input but DirectX. Now WinUAE has total control over every key stroke. The only key combination that still works is Alt-Tab.

Bye,
Thomas

Yep, it's seems that way. Since which version is this introduced? Damn, i seem to recall that i still could do it with 88R4. But maybe, by installing a newer version, some of the old install got overwritten?

This "feature" seems to have been implemented from version 88R22. It still works with 88R21.

Thanks a lot for the info, thomas ;-)
