Controlling MED from Logic (OSX)
« on: August 01, 2007, 09:18:15 PM »
Allo,

I'm trying to set up Logic Express to controll OSS on my A1200.

So far, I've created an environment instrument in LE called "A1200" and assigned it MIDI channel 16, which I've also set as Octamed's input channel, though I'm guessing this was a mistake as it isn't working.

I have Midi Active, Input Active and Ext Sync all ticked in MED.

I can also control instrument direct from both Logic and MED.

Anyone know how to do this?

OctaMED responds to primitive MIDI clock and Start/Stop/Cont
messages. These are MIDI System (or is it Common?) messages so are not on any specific channel. I guess you have to tell Logic to send arcane Clocks because most modern sequencers use MIDI Timecode which is more sophisticated and not understood by OctaMED.
