Escom Amiga 1200 Floppy Fix

As you probably know some copy protected games software uses floppy disk drive signals (ready signal) which are not present on the Escom Amiga1200 floppy disk drives.

I know that circuit upgrade was released free of charge by Escom that allowed users to fix the drive problem.

Can anyone send me schematics of this fix (or some other if you know) please ?

I checked Aminet but find just Floppy_fix.lha but it didnt work as expected...

Floppy_fix.lha seems to be for the Amiga Technologies A1200s and not the Escom ones, that's maybe why it didn't work for you.

I don't know about schematics to fix the problem, but I had the same problem a few years ago.

My floppy drive eventually refused to work, so I sent it off to Eyetech who did the motherboard fix which allowed me to put in a proper Amiga floppy drive.

I think you need to replace the floppy drive with a proper Amiga drive aswell as do the motherboard fix, but I can't remember.

You could try asking them for the details about the Escom Floppy Fix.

I bought a Kylwalda for my Escom A1200. It resolved all of the wierd floppy problems. I don' tif it will fit in the A1200 "wedge" though. Mine is towerized.

I was absolutely gutted when I couldnt play one of my all time favourite Amiga games on my A1200...... Hunter from Activision!
The disk drive goes crazy when you try loading it up. It goes in a grinding fit of noise!

So I bought an A500.
The moral is here children, if you cant be bothered fixing it yourself, get an A500.  :-D

to say the truth, it works BUT ...

you can read every diskette (DOS/NDOS)
but its impossible to write anything to diskette...
