Would it be possible to show more posts in the latest forum posts page? Or, have it user customizable?
-
I agree. (I must admit I've grown used to AmigaWorld.net showing nearly 30 posts including the non-Amiga related chat.)
-
IIRC the current latest forums posts module was a b!tch to implement for wayne and it's near impossible to change it (due to xoops being silly).
-
1) It's not possible to make it user-customizable.
2) You could never get everyone to agree on "how many" to show.
How many do you want?

It's now showing 30. Anyone want to start a poll as to how long it'll take people to start complaining about the list from being too long?
-
30 sounds good. :-)

Perhaps you should start a poll on how long the list itself should be? :-P.

Ideal, IMHO. Thanks :-)

But that would belay my tyrannical nature... :)
Seriously, I'm not really opposed to any changes to the Web site as long as people take a moment to understand that
1) We can't really make lots of changes to the core code (since Xoops 2 sucks so bad) and
2) Nothing else can currently be made "user definable". Seems everyone thinks it's just a flip of a switch to make every detail a user-definable choice, and that's simply not the case. If it were, Xoops would absolutely crawl, since every single screen would be hand-devised, and none of it cacheable.
In the case of the lastposts change, changing it to 30 posts WAS, in fact, a 2-second change, but no one had ever bothered to ask, so I never thought much of it.
If you ask, I might say no. If you don't ask, then you get no answer. Isn't a 50/50 chance better than none at all?
Oh Great.... Now I'm the "Xoops Nazi" (Seinfeld reference)
