Besides computing I am heavily into music (both listening to it and making my own) and more recently I have got quite into politics.

Some of the PMQs videos on Youtube are priceless comedy, especially William Hague!

Old cars !

I had this beautiful 1972 Chevrolet Opala in the picture, but it was stolen in October  :boohoo:  It was an amazing car, and I was finishing it's restoration. It was with me since 1999.

I have also a blue and white 1966 Aero Willys (white roof...), currently under restoration. I bought this baby in 94. It is abig four door sedam, has light blue leather seats, 4 speed manual transmission with column shifter and it is powered by a 2600cc twin carb F head inline six.

I just bought a 1988 Chevrolet Monza to replace the Opala. The car is in great shape. I can't believe it is 20 years old.

I'm planning to finish the Aero's restoration this year to cross the country with it next year (well... I hope so...)

other hobbies? you mean, ... you... go outside?

cars, i have an MG midget in bits waiting for new bits of body panel to be stitched in where the rust weavle has had a go, before she gets a respray and put back together. found a place in the states that does/did do a supercharging kit for the old midg. plus i have an XJS that needs a new front suspension, as i have a V12 i'm working on converting to quad cam and prolly 8.4 litres to go in there. or an XJ13 remake...
the other half said "if you can find a car to put it in then yes you can pratt aabout with a chevy" found a place in holland that'll take a big block out to 10.6 litres. i was going to put it in a Lola T70, but the spaceframe will only take a small block, so that'll have to wait. so i'll just need to find a '72 convertable vette to put that big block in. then maybe she'll stop drooling over slk's.

music. used to put on events, and live stuff, but the old crew have broken up. kids. mortgage. carreer. all that life stopping stuff
so i just prat about on my own. nothing serious anymore. just feels good to have a blast. would like to get back into it but, havn't really had the time or the money. currently got my eyes open and ears to the ground for any 2nd hand funktion1 kit (v.good sound systems).

games. i used to be a WOW addict, but i think i've gotten over it. recently went to a lan gaming meet with some mates, but had my arse handed to me in all the old favourites, opposing force, far cry, quake3 and even the new one, crysis.
if farcry or crysis had a co-operative mode, they'd have SUCH a winner on their hands...

and Amigas of course. they seem to be breading! wondering how i'm going to explain the impending arrival of an A4000/030 to the better half! :-D

at the moment, the mortgage is tearing into my finances, and i've wasted most evenings this week, and today 'doing the garden'. holy crap whats wrong with me? oh well, its cheaper than going down the gym. BBQ and beer with mates tomorrow so normal service is resumed...

My Subaru STI. Fun toy. :) Also trying to build up a Linux MCE security camera system for my home, to keep an eye on said STI so if the vandals mess with it yet again I'll know who to send the cops after.

Amiga has risen to the top of my hobbies again over the past year and I can't seem to get enough of working and playing on them.

My other interests include Photography, Video Production/Editing, SCUBA and Skin Diving, Riding ATVs and Motorcycles, Drafting and Design of Residential and Commercial Buildings, Construction Consulting, Billiards and learning to play the Piano.

Of course some of my hobbies/interests I am also trying to make money with as I am semi-retired since last June.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

R/C is something I've always intended to get into but never
have gotten around to it. I built model kits for years but
congenital nerve problems put the kabosh on that one.

Feel free to elaborate more but it's a hot day here today and I can't be botherd right now!
Also any questions about my other intrestes i'l answer.

The boss (my wife) got me a 50th anniversary Strat for my
50th birthday so fooling around with it is a resumed hobby.
I'm supposed to do things to maintain hand strength and
making noise on it is preferable to other things I could do with my hands, at least as far as she's concerned. >:)

Music, and the background of it. Especially world music, and the finding out in what kind of spirit it has been made.

Family - I have a beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters whom I consider to be my biggest treasures and primary focus, however when I have my time out, I have two other hobbies besides computing, these are:

Photography - Film and digital, I have a rather expensive selection of Nikon and Yashica cameras and insanely exspensive selection of lenses to go with them. I love ultrawide landscapes so eventually, i'll probably ditch all my digital and 35mm gear and buy myself a large format view camera, just like the good old days.

Music and DJ'ing - In my younger years, I was a pro DJ and I still love putting together a selection of music for others to enjoy. I will pretty much listen to anything, however, I do have a real distaste for these modern manufactured "artists" the record companies keep churning out. I really love 60-70's hard British Rock, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath to name a few. I also love 80-90's Pop and I have a rather large collection of 12" singles that represent this.

I read this and just had to ask if you've seen the interview
with Blackmore giving credit for Smoke on the Water to
Bethoven?

I've not, however, Deep Purple never really did much for me anyway. As I did say though, I will listen to pretty much anything, Beethoven included.
