Zip Drive question
« on: December 06, 2002, 11:49:45 AM »
Just bought myself a Highway USB card and attached a Zip100Mb drive to it.  Works fine except for one minor quirk: no drive icon until I manually type in the device name (UMSD:) into a file requestor or dopus lister.

After that, the icon works as it should (reacts to ejected disks and disk changes), however it's kind of annoying to have to manually prompt the icon.

It is mounted, as trying to click on the UMSD: icon or typing "mount UMSD:" into a cli prompt returns the "device already mounted" error.

Anyone have an idea for a remedy?  I'm guessing that it probably has something to do with DOpus or Workbench, but I'm at a loss.

My specs:A1200T, Blizz060/66Mhz, 128Mb FastRAM, OS3.9 BB2 & Opus Magellan 5.82 in WBR mode, Highway USB card, Zip100 USB, fat95 filesystem for Zip drive, and much more groovy hardware unrelated to the problem at hand.

For the icon UMSD: have you tried setting the icon tool ACTIVATE=1? If it's at 0 you get the same problem you were having.
