Maybe silly topic, but I'm interested in this. :-D
Since I'm playing games on my amigas I was also a great fan of the musics of these games. Also today I'm enthusiastic about the quality of some modules. Unbelievable what masterpieces where created by musicians, like e.g. Matthias Steinwachs or Chris Hülsbeck, with the technical limits of the old hardware.
Sometimes I've just played the games for listing to the music and this modules are still my favourites today. And fortunately Delitracker works again with the new MorphOS 1.4. The old modules are played now 24/7. Can't stop to like them...
My current Top 3:
Lionheart - AcientTown (level after the lava level)
Dune - Track 2 (played on the second disk)
Lotus 2 - Title
Lotus 3 - Breathless (first track in the cdplayer/radio)
Chaos Engine - Title
Pinball Dreams - looseronlaugh (played after you quit a table)
Jaguar XJ220 - title
(okay.. that was a Top 7 :-P)
So, what's your favourite?
regards,
tokai
(i hope I've posted this to the right forum!)

That awfull tune from the begginning of Test Drive II, the one that dosent loop properly.
Well Done Accerlade!
-
Turrican 2 just has brilliant mods to fit the moods for all of the levels. The first track is wickedly upbeat and I love the track for the (mainly) under water level. ;-)
-
Hmm...
Intro tune from Denaris (the 2 disk version of katakis)
Intro tune from Nebulus
Intro tune from gods...
Anybody by change happen to have a mod or similar from the Denaris tune ?
-
Chaos Engine Rocks!
-
And like i said on another forum post...
War.. has never been so much fun!
-
Dune - Wormsign (Title Track)
Blood Money - In Game Track
Hybris - Title and Ingame
Battle Squadron - Ingame
Lemmings - Various
And some more I can't remember right now.

Well... that great tune could be the hymne for this community at some days. That's true! :-D

It's simple. The amiga Demo World of commodore 92 and the module STARDUST MEMORIES
maybe not a game but It's still an amiga module[
-
For me it has to be the title music of Shadow of the Beast 2. Pure atmosphere, gorgeous.
A close second would be Monkey Island.
Other favourites in no particular order: Beast, Cannon Fodder, Gods, Lemmings, Captain Blood (by Jean-Michel Jarre apparently).
Basically anything by the Bitmap Bros or Sensible Software are brilliant.
-
What about the tunes of the lotus series? that was pretty cool for its time.
Jesus On E's!
-
>Anybody by change happen to have a mod or similar from the Denaris tune ?
http://exotica.fix.no/tunes/unexotica/games/Denaris.html
I love exotica.
-
Agony - Intro (Nice piano intro.)
And the shooter game that a lady sings "I've got the one, I've got the key to another day..." - Xenon - Intro?
Shadow of The Beast, and others.

If you like the Captain blood soundtrack you should
listen to Jarre's album Zoolook. The game's music has been sampled from its first track.

All the three tunes from Onslaught
Turrican 1-2-3
Bionic Commando
Led Storm title music
Shadow of the Beast 1-2-3
Unreal - the flight sequence tune
Gauntlet 3 main tune (one of the best pieces of Tim Follin, it sounds a lot like a Genesis piece)

Turrican II and Battle Squardron are the games containing my favourite tunes :)

That Lotus III track is pretty cool, it fits in with the atmospheric first level quite well too.....
Does anyone know where I can get hold of the Lotus III .mod files?
I liked one or two of the tracks for XJ220 as well, but I cannot remember the titles.
Personally, my favourites are Turrican I & II, Shadow of the Beast, Nebulus (although far too short) and the title track for Alien Breed '92.
-
i really like the module of the intro of the game Heimdall, also like the intro song of pinball fantasies.
and yeah monkey island...
Probably loads of more also, but this was the ones i could think of now
-
I love exotica.
:-D
-
Yeah, exactly find the tunes you want at Exotica.. If you cannot find what you want I can send it to ya or upload it somewhere. Just request! I have for example all the tunes for Lotus III sitting right here. But I think I got them from Exotica in the first place..
-
Well there were lots of great ones, but if I was going remix any game song into a modern metal tune :-D , then it would be the Hybris music, both the title and game music :) Just love that screaming guitar type lead and the music itself is really well put together!
Close second, Stormlord title music :)
Oh, and the Batman: The Movie music for the Cathedral level (and the Jogeir Liljedahl remix, I think I got his name right) were really cool too :-)
-
Most of the music in Slam Tilt
-
What? Nobody said "Awesome" yet?
That, and Killing Game Show, Leander, Globdule, Infestation, Log!cal, Turrican2, Stardust...
...and of course, Olof Gustafsson (of DIgital Illustions pinball fame) for the best game music I've heard until Unreal Tournament came around. :-D
-
Battle Squardron
-
I loved the music from Shadow of the Beast I and II. I also liked all of the music in the game Gods (except for the title track, I thaught it sucked). The music in Ultima VI was also very well done, especially the music Stones. The title track in Sword of Sodan is good too. And I just love the title track in Goldrunner! I am now working on converting all of this great Amiga game music to MP3 and Wave format on my Pentium 4 PC. I feel that more people should enjoy this great music other than us Amiga lovers. :-D

Tangram
Yeah... tangram features 2 great tunes.
I also forgot to mention the music of Ambermoon by Matthias Steinwachs. I have must for every game music fan! :-)
-
That would have to be the fast techno/trance track in the "death planet" in-game in Slam Tilt.
-
Too many to choose from, so I'll say this...
(How do you quickly input foreign characters into Windex PCs? I only know how to get Amiga and Mac OSes to do it direct from the keyboard without memorising ASCII codes.)
1. Byorne A. Lynne (Cubulus, Tranze Seven [once upon a time my 'Organiser' alarm clock], esp.)
2. Chris Hulsbeck (Turrican 1 & 2, Quik&Silva, esp.)
3. Alistar Brimble (My copy of 'Bang... Tick, Tick' was stolen, along with the rest of my CD collection. Pirating's one thing, but stealing from the end-purchaser?)
4. Jon Hare
5. David Whittaker (Bomb the Bass, Nation XII remixes)
6. Audiomonster (actual name escapes me at the moment, might go look it up. 'Flashback' title, 'Street Gang'.)
But my favourite: 'Cannon Fodder' title.
Why? After hearing it a few times I decided I wanted it in my collection. So, I loaded my Chip RAM into 'AudioMaster' after a reset, nicked the samples and used ProTracker (and about 20 resets to listen to the original) to recreate it. I think I ended up with about 1 mistake (toward the end in the really mixed-up section) compared to the original MED module which someone gave me the following week at an Amiga Group (WAG/NECC) meeting.
Taught me a lot about producing, though, makes Acid (PC) feel dumbed-down.

"All this scrachin' is makin' me itch!"
- Bomb the Bass, 'Assault on Precinct 13 (Megablast)'

Mystikal Vibes - System Violation by Anarchy
Wasteland - Red Sector Megademo
State of the Art - Spaceballs
Ba1-Rsi - Red Sector Megademo
-
Hi,
About the music from Blood Money? :-)
Coder
-
Oh yeah, "Awesome" was great music! :) Not the greatest samples but very effective, I used to crank the volume whenever the jaws-theme asteroid level music came on =) F/A 18 Interceptor had cool music too, although it was just a big sample and I think some if not all was sampled from Top Gun or something like that :)
-
For best music modules......................
All I have to say is Psygnosis........
Agony's music are incredible.
Shadow of the best 1,2, AND 3 are awsome.
Leander has awsome musics.
But for demos, some best musics came from the Complex demos (wormhole, REAL)
Wow, of course I listen to the Amiga modules. I dont think any other machine has musics that sound as awsome as the Paula chip 8-bit sounds :-D
-
I must admit that I have since yesterday a new favourite here... never played the game, but the mod is just great... running here now since a few hours without pause.
mod.super-baz - SuperCars 2 (by Barry Leitch)
Do anyone know what Barry works today, did he made music for newer games too?
-
Barry now works for fisher price doing music for those hitech kids toys :-)

however, the music is twice as good when played
in its original environment. In the game.
Especially slam tilt.
Slam tilt is a MUST play.
and it runs at full speed
on a bog standard A1200!!
This means that you can buy an A1200,
connect it to a big tv with a normal tv cable,
put in disk 1,
and you are about to play
the most professional, beatiful,
fast, cool and superb game ever!
I wonder, if you compare the number of lame games
and the number of cool games such as Slam Tilt
made for the aga chipset,
will the % of cool games be higher than on other game platforms?...
-
Didnt we do this before? ah well, here goes..
Turrcian 2 - easily the best
Pinball Dreams long opening tune - Fanfu*****tastic
Dune - Fantastic
Agony intro tune
Apidya
Project-X
No second prize -err i forget the tune but remember it is great :-)
Lionheart - Great tunes and friendly guy to speak with
Jaquar XJ220 -intro
Leander
I missing one tune here that would easily make my top 5, ah well. to late of nite to remember such things.
Plus loads of others that be to long to list.
The Amiga always had it good in the Audio department and when you consider the age of paula, it just makes it seem even more fantastic, nothing touches her and the musicians of her time.
-
Never forget that .mod of Amiga was,is,and will ever be the BEST musical format of the computer's world so it's very difficult to choose but i think that some mods are "cultes" like :
- turrican II (chris is very very goood)
- xenon II megablast (in the biginning of the techno)
- superfrog
- lemmings II (of course)
........
:-D mackfly

Hoya!
You forgot one of the BEST arcade music ever adapted on Ammy (stricto senso, NOT an Ammy mod but...)!

Boy, this is one of my FAVE game mods ever!!! It even contains a small drums solo! ;-)
And what about tje Jaguar XJ220 themes? Nuke just RULES!!!!
I wonder what is he doing at the moment...
And... I must admit that I DO like the dynAMIte theme, done by Mr Tickly! (Hoya Pete! Long time no seen... :-/ )
SuperCars got some nice ones too. Well, SuperCars 2, too!
SuperFrog is quite addictive as well.
And for your information, AudioMonster is called Raphael Gesqua, if I remember correctly :-)
Alas, he gave up Amiga music several years ago... :-(
Be funky
