Format a PC HD to AmigaFileSystem with WinUAE

Someone knows if is possible to format a pc hd using WinUAE?
I would like to format the HD using UAE than I want to install OS3.9 and use it with my a1200.

It should be possible as the latest WinUAE does support HD's formatted in a real Amiga, however  you'll need an unused HD/partition, look in the helpfile and you'll find this;

You can now add complete Harddrives to Winuae, select from a dropdown list. This list will only pick up Amiga formatted drives, Amithlon partitions and empty partitions (not Windows partitions). Tick the Read/Write option if you wish to read and write to such a partition.

You'll find this in the hardrive setup tab..

This does (somewhat) work.  I was able to mount a 2G IDE (2.5" from my A1200) and read it's contents.  But, when I tried my new 20G ATA-6 2.5" it would lock up my system completely.  So, there could be a problem with DMA drives (the drive worked fine in with PC formats).  I ended up preparing the drive in my A4000.

At this moment I've not connected a cd-rom to my a1200 so I'd like to install OS3.9 using WinUAE
But I've thought another way....I will format the hd with Amiga,then I put the hd to the PC and I'll try to install OS3.9...

That`s what I did for my A2000.  Formated on Amiga,
then I installed the workbench with WinUAE.  Then put it back in the Amiga.  It worked out great for me.
