Online Banking with Amiga
« on: December 18, 2004, 04:21:51 PM »
With the rise of online fraud, spoofing, hacking, etc. anyone using Aweb or Ibrowse with the Amiga to access online bank accounts? Since we are a microcosism group in cyberspace we would place well below Macintosh and Linux for cyber terrorists. So what say you, fellow Amigans?
Own the Web... Go PeopleString! It\'s Huge!!

I dunno. Providing the banking sites don't require anything too advanced (eg must have CSS or javascript 1.3+) I can see that they should work.

Most of the recent phishing style fraud would likely affect any browser that has a sufficiently developed javascript implementation - it's more a site vulnerability than a browser one.

As soon as gecko, kHTML etc are ported for amigaos we'll have as many browser vulnerabilities as the next system (although far fewer problems at an OS level).

Yeah, i use HSBC's online banking services to check my balance, review all credits / debits etc.  No problems so far with fraud (touch silicone) and it's as stable as any other JS site.
