« on: November 21, 2006, 03:56:10 PM »
Hello, I'm an Italian Amiga fun. I'm sure that you know a game called Leander. I know that some version cracked haven't a platform, that let to go on in the game. Do you remember which version fix this bug (can I call bug? :-) )?

Thanks! :-D

If you mean that there is a cracked version which suffers a bug which prevents you from advancing beyond a certain point in the game, then my suggestion would be to buy an original copy.

It's not a bug. It's a known, deliberate anti-piracy measure. I don't know if there's any cracked version which fixes this.

Just install your original copy with WHDLoad on your Amiga, copy the whole installed game folder to your PC, then run the game from Workbench on UAE instead of booting it from the ADF.

Ah, if only original versions of Amiga games where easy to get these days.

How I'd love that, it would let me replace most of my old 'youthful-sin' collection (as in the non-original part of my collection).

Can't fix it these days tho. Most of those games are not available and if they are available as original, you'll find -in my experience- that most of those originals no longer work either.

Indeed, a while back I purchased an original copy of "It Came from the Desert" for my miggies (the Amiga version was by far the nicest). All excited, I fired it up to play and discovered that disk 3 was trashed, the game didn't exactly come cheap either, mind you. I don't even bother anymore.

+1

I havent touched a real Amiga disk in years.  At one time I had a large collection of originals, even then, it wasnt unusual to dicover an munged disk when trying to install.

I use ADFs without losing sleep over "the issues".   :-D
