Thanks :-)

We think this could be useful if you have a few 4GB CF cards with different distributions on them such as ClassicWB or AmiKit or OS3.9 / 3.1.  You can easily swap them out.

Also if you want to back up / amend the whole drive in WinUAE, it can be swapped out easily too.

I like this idea for my A1200, but will have to find a new location for my external SCSI connector from my Blizzard A1260, which currently is located in that space.  I have also seen some users cut a hole for the Compact Flash to exit the case near the PCMCIA slot, which is another option that might be better for my current A1200 situation, and leave my external SCSI where it is located.

Does the long IDE cable passing near other electrical components cause any data errors, or data transfer problems that slow it down?  The only reason I ask is that I have experience with the Efika 5200B for MorphOS and that system's IDE controller would not allow even the shortest IDE cable without causing problems with data transfers.  It was a terrible IDE controller I guess.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Got my new adapter...fitted in a few quick minutes.

Plus Points: Cheap and easy to install

Minor groans: Slot had been 'modified' by hand by the looks of it? maybe the original molding was a bit tight for a CF card? Came with 3 strips of double sided sticky tape to secure in clock port but wasn't up to the job....so a few squirts of super glue and this baby ain't going nowhere!

Overall: Well worth the small price for the sheer convenience of being able to swap out CF cards with various versions of Workbench etc.

Recommend purchase!

Does it work with the standard HDD LED?

If only Amigakit created a backplate like this with an additional two USB sockets for Rapid Road USB above the CF slot... I think that might just fit.

Yes, but some motherboards dont like certain CF / Motherboard combinations.

Already thought of, unfortunately there is not enough space.
We are looking at other possabilities.

Nice, If there comes a clean solution for external access to CF IDE and USB I can change my Indivision to a HDMI connector with Kipper2K's adapter.
