Bad news... uses google for translating the text to english

Buenos días;
Es cierto que aún tenemos los derechos sobre Sensible Soccer pero por el
momento no hay ningún plan de ceder código para posibles conversiones.

It is certain that still we have the right on Sensible Soccer but at the moment there is no plan to yield code for possible conversions.

I only have 5 minutes experiance with SWOS, but know enough to say, SWOS is old. No need to use old code...or graphics. Just start from scratch. You can then put all those things in the game that you always wished it had. It`d also be original and you would have less court cases to attend :-D

Check out:

http://yodasoccer.sourceforge.net

where you will find a PC version of a remake of Sensible Soccer, complete with source code in PC Blitz Basic.

Although I think we should keep the graphics "exactly" the same as the original sensie (or to have as an option) this shouldn't be too hard to port.

If you have a PC, try the demo, you'll be quite suprised I think.

I started a project a while ago (I start a lot of things but never seem to finish most of them... :-) ) where I coded the sensie menu in an RTG friendly way in C, ripping the 256 colour menu graphics from the PC version, and ripping the original SWOS graphics from the Amiga version.

I'll have a look for what I still have on my HDD

Apart from the fact that all the team data files are horribly out of date, there is not a lot wrong with the game mechanics...it plays a perfect game of soccer.

What we could do is start updating the team data files, and update the graphics.

Obviously, the data file project would be a massive undertaking...but if enough people collaborated...it shouldn't be too bad...

The graphics should be easier to update...i seem to remember a SWOS 97-98 update patch released on Aminet a long time ago, including details how and what to update...

What do people think about this instead of a complete re-code?

there should be regular updates (like every season) with teams edited with latest players, on floppy disk.
this would be successful and save us doing it ourselves.
