Some guy who works for Microsoft is interested in my CD32 and Amiga gear.
I am quite curious as to why? He says he was always interested in the Amiga...........but I wonder if its to examine it to see if they can make suggestions for the next X-Box?
I believe Microsoft has been doing this kind of thing for a while.
I dont know if I should sell it to him. I am the last guy who would want to deal with Microsoft in this way. Surely they can buy one on eBay. So maybe this guy is genuine and wants it for himself because he has seen the light of how crappy Microsoft is. :-D

Honestly I don't think there's anything left that would be of value for Microsoft.
The guy is probably personally interested; just sell it to him! Maybe he can get educated this way;-)

I want to sell my CD32 or actually I NEED to....as well as my Clean 1084s D1 which he also wants.
But not sure if to him...........the CD32 needs a PSU which he said he will find.

Might as well sell it:---if Microsoft wanted one they could/would/should simply get one of those that appear on eBay and use petty cash.
Actually I bet that Microsoft has already long had a suite of rooms dedicated to evaluating ALL the competeing systems.There is nothing illegal or even unethical about buying the competition products and checking them out.It is COPYING the competition's products in violation of copyrights and patents which is the problem Historically Microsoft would never do that....well,except in case of disk compression software etc. :rtfm: :pissed:

What on earth could the CD32 tell microsoft that they dont already know? To start off with the thing looks so terrible, it was underpowered and all the games were straight ports + fmv sequences. all it can tell MS is what not to do!
The guy needs to earn a living and that is his first priority, if some one offered me a job in microsoft i would bite their hands off probably, he isnt exactly a concentration cam guard now is he?
Many MS employees probably have a huge respect for the amiga, this guy is one of them, keeping your work life and amiga life separate isnt a crime ;-)

hehehe...........I dont think the grey was as bad as the shape! looked like it was trying hard to be like a Sega Genesis. That was degrading itself. plus it was really flimsy and crappy...........I have seen some strange versions of CD32's that were shiny and plasticy and real crappy looking! they even had cheap joypads to go with them......I wonder who has one like these units. They are easily identifiable.

I think most of the microsoft employer are just like you and me.. They keep their job and sparetime seperate. I see nothing wrong with a person also enjoying some other companies product. And there is absolutely nothing to steal from the outdated CD32. This guy probably wants the CD32 for classic games and so on, just like you and me.

Are you talking about the model that Sega resold as the SX32 addon for the Genesis? If so, then it makes you wonder why emulators such as Gens can't run amiga software...
Especially since (if I recall correctly) the SX32 came with a slightly changed version of the CD32 and and/or a bridge chip to the Genesis?
Just don't send it DHL...anywhere! If your wondering why, click here[/url (search for 'DHL'). It might be a little of topic, but since it's related to shipping, it is relevant...since your goal is to get rid of it, right?
Anyway, I too had to send an HP back to them for service back in 2000, and on the way back, DHL delivered it to the wrong addresss...in a different state. At the time I was living in Georgia.

Again, a CD32 would be MILES better can the glitch-prone UAE emulator....that's why I'm interested.
The only question is, in the above case, what would I need to connect it to a DB15 switchbox? Perhaps via USB???

@leirbag28: i think that if he want it for ms he (or others) buy one from vesalia (http://www.vesalia.de/) or retropack (http://www.retropack.co.uk/RetropackAmigaStore/tabid/105/ProductID/229/PageIndex/1/Default.aspx) and nobody could ask him the reason or suspect him :-)

I wasn't calling anybody an idiot. I was simply pointing out the inability of DHL to properly and prompty deliver packages on time and at the correct address. Sounds like you dont like ports or even remebered about thoose non Amiga games which popped up on cd32 only...
i can atleast think of 2 games which wasnt ports , and there is quite more too (ok well maybe 10 :-p) .
The MisAdventures of Flink (imo one of the best games on cd32)
Final Gate (ok..its not that good :D).
btw i know of quite a lot of people who loved superfrog on cd32 and that is even unchanged from disk to cd.

9 times out of ten, his old C= 64 or A500 is moldering in his moms attic, and he just had a craving for something a little simpler that harkens back to his younger days of kickass computing, courtesy of C=. No big deal.

MS is looking for an alternative to the alternative Mac, which they already bought.
After all these years they've come to realize that they're stuck with a couple of non-expandible OSs, and they can not use Linux for making money because is free.
But you know what? Let them have it, think of it as a Trojan Horse, we'll figure out later how to come upon them and take posession of MS Headquarters, once our spy chips have been unsuspiciously brought inside...

Not knowing what an SX32 Pro is, and wanting to pay $500 causes me great suspicion! as in: His company may be paying him to do research on consoles?
Either that, or he has alot of Money to throw away.............................because as I have seen here..............Alot of "Amigans" here even criticised the price of my SX32! so Hardly any Amigans here were willing to pay $500 for it!
I sold the SX32 the same day I posted it! Imagine if I eBayed it!

Okay...I recceived a message from leirbag... it basically says:

3. It has:
- some internal soldered wires for more power
- a PSU that's mssing the power plug that plugs into the CD32.
- a fan in the front that was cut into
Other than that, it comes in its original box with 2 joypads and Microcosm game.
So what would be required for connection the CD32 to either a TV or a DB15 (VGA) LCD monitor whose sync ranges are:
Horizontal: 30-81
Vertical: 56-76
So, what do you guys think? A good deal?

To connect to a TV, you would need a composite or s-video cable, or failing that it has RF out.
For the VGA monitor, you would need a scandoubler. (IIRC, the CD32 doesn't have an RGB video port, so I think you would also need to get something like an SX32 to add one before you could use an external scandoubler.)
