So my wife requested that if I found the game oregon trail for the Amiga she would enjoy playing so after some searching it does seem like it was made for the Amiga but I was not able to find a download of it.
Any ideas if it's available anywhere?

Nop, I think it's only for C64
-
I've never seen an Amiga version of it. The Apple II version should run well on an emulator.

The apple 2000 emulator program requires at least a 6820 to run so a stock A2000 is not going to run it sadly :(
I looked into that option but my 4000 is not my main gaming Amiga.

Or play one of the honest-to-god originals directly in a browser:

If you are going to emulate it why not emulate a commodore product like a commodore 64 with VICE 64 or CCS 64. Oregon Trail Is definitely on the C64. I have an original c64 Oregon trail that came with my C64, it has two other game as well like a fur trapping game (about the French in the St Lawrence seaway and another I cannot remember. All the games were North American history games. It Probably has Apple II, CoCo (or TRS 80), VIC 20, Atari 400/800, and Ti 99/4A versions.
You also need Lemonade Stand while you are at it. I think this may go back as far as PET computers.

Was never made for the Amiga.
Grab the Apple version and just download AppleWin on a modern platform, eg., Windows or Mac.
Unless you are hellbent on the original feel of a Apple 2 or C64 keyboard under your fingers, emulators work just fine.
From WikiPedia: Android; Apple II, iOS, Macintosh; BlackBerry; Commodore 64; DOS; Facebook; Java ME; Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, Wii; Windows, Mobile, Phone 7
Avoid the tablet/phone versions. I'm not big on using original HW to play oldie games, but this game really blows on a tablet. It's like watching paint dry twice. Or find yourself an HP 2100 / emulator and play the original version. The game was originally released in 1974, after all, via MECC.

Wow! I had no idea that Oregon Trail went back that far. Still a favorite!

Games Nostalgia (really cool site) has it and it's ready to run on either Mac or PC. The emulator is built in - just double click and go.
The version offered by GamesNostalgia is the 1992 version, officially released for Windows3.1 but actually working on MS-DOS. This version offers much better graphics compared to the original MS-DOS version of 1990.

All their games work this way but may initiate with a different emulator, i.e. Amiga, Mac, Dos, Win... what have you. NO emulator required! :)

Tell the wife you need a CPU upgrade to run oregon trail on on the C64 or Apple II emulators :)

Back in the mid-90s the store I worked for was selling an updated Windows 95 and Mac release of "Oregon Trail" for $10. We had stacks of the CDs and I was the only one who moved any of them, mostly because I was familiar with the original game we played in school on the Apple II.
Years later I regretted never having picked one out for myself.

No kidding, that was/ is a classic game. I ended up getting an Apple IIGS so I am not trying to find the actual game to run on the Apple.
