As I have an iOS developer licence I have been able to run an Amiga emulator on my iPhone for some time... The problem I have found is that Amiga Games really don't suit the touchscreen interface at all... It is rather distracting actually.

@bloodline, carvedeye: in the video he uses a usb-adapter to connect a joypad for authentic experience. can't wait to test this one out :-) btw the emulator works like a charme. real cool interface.

WHy not just a bluetooth joypad and skip the overpriced adapter?

Is a licence needed in order to get xcode?. Last time i downloaded it i didn't pay anything. Or is the compiler needed for it not included in the free version?

Xcode is 100% free and awesome... But if you want to upload your code onto a real live iPhone, you need to have a licence :) it's not expensive and if really good fun if you like to write software!

-edit- forgot to say that Xcode does include an iOS simulator so you can test your apps without either an iPhone or a licence. ;)

The iOS licensing means that no iOS developer can make an emulator which can load "ROMs" and sell that emulator on iTunes which means any Amiga Emulator would have to be sold WITH licensed games.

If you remember the C64 emulator for iOS was pulled because it could load games through a secret menu.

This may be the only way to actually sell it and make real money on it anyway, not because Apple say so, but because nobody will know what "ROM"s are, or ADF's, they don't care, they just want to play a collection of games. Like the "Atari greatest hits" above. However, the Atari app *does* sell extra games packs, $0.99 per four-pack (where you get both console and arcade games), or $15 for them all apparently.
