Is it possible to have multiple WinUAE installations?
« on: April 05, 2017, 11:33:56 AM »
I had a working WinUAE installation with paths set to sensible locations, most in C:\Amiga as i want to keep my Amy stuff away from all the Windows... ugh.

Then I installed FlowerPot (from Amikit).

The FlowerPot installer ignored the current WinUAE installation and overwrote the existing WinUAE registry entries with paths pointing to it's own WinUAE installation in the FlowerPot program folder (also, *data* files are forced to be in the "Program Files (x86)" folder, grrr).

Is it possible to get these 2 WinUAE installations to peacefully coexist?

Can WinUAE be made to look for the various needed paths based on the directory it's started from, i.e. use relative paths?

On the paths panel check "portable mode", then WinUAE will use winuae.ini rather than the registry.

While you are at it also check "relative paths". It will make you independent of the actual path for example if you want to move or rename your installation directory.
