Title: AEROS 3.9.0a "persistence is futile" available at indieGO!-store
Post by: phoenixkonsole on July 31, 2014, 11:02:13 AM
AEROS 3.9.0a "persistence is futile" can now be downloaded from indieGO app store.
http://www.indiego-gaming.com/marketplace

Click on enter the matrix to create a account (then wait for a activation email)
Clients can be downloaded there as well.
Windows users can try a early graphical indieGO! client as well.A video showing it on a modern PC with AMD GPU and on a Pentium M with intel915 mini PC will follow.

Known problem:
Backingstore inactive on EEEPC 701 ... this is for now the 0.01% where it doesn't work correct : )

Unlike r3.5 it should work an any PC.

Changelog for 3.9.0a "persistence is futile":
Switched to knoppix (a debian based distro focused on live-mode)
Removed old aros vision files, no new yet included (waiting for the light version)
Fixed fs-uae icon, didn't work before
Replaced Openoffice by libreoffice
Updated gimp
Browser is now iceweasel, feel free to install anotherone

Regressions:
A lot icons are dead end because the linux apps are not all on par with 3.5, if you reinstall the apps using apt-get or synaptic, the icons will work again.

New:
It includes driver for intel, amd and nvidia gpu's.
Some work better some not so good. Some will have compiz fx, some not.

It is meant to be used from usb stick and allows saving files and settings.

I will provide update packages, so you don't need to download the whole thing again, unless something under the hood changes.

Aros files are still the old ones, the "a" behind the numbers implicate that there will be a new version made in a not so distant future.

User registering seems to work now straight from the client.
A openbeta for AmigaOS will follow

Clients are now available for all target systems including:
AROS
AmigaOS
MorphOS
OSX
Linux
Windows

Please try, give critics and we will try to move into the right direction.

Rgistering is now possible from the client. So the "Enter the matrix" link is only needed for developers because the Dev-Interface works only in a browser.
Developers can login online and click on "become a developer"
After manual acceptance by us you can upload how much and whatever you like.
Of course under rules of law. User have the possibility to report apps.

See the attached low-quality JPEG to see what my 900p screen looks like from the graphical app store on my MacOSX 10.6.8 box.

Yeah I know. OSX Version needs some extra love from us.

Please do a right click on the app tore icon and choose "show content".
then goto contents->ressources->prefs

%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@! : ) Fabio removed the old .bak config....

Whatever..
open the global.config with TextEditor and change under "Resolution section" the 1.0 values for width and height to something smaller 0.85 for example or as shown below 0.5

[SECTION] = resolution
   [SFL]width           = 0.5
   [SFL]height          = 0.5

We wil fix it next time. OSX has problems with a 100% sized borderless window.

Feel free to toy around with the config. FX, borders and so on can be configured. The Downloadmanager has its own config. If you add a app to the download queue you can pause and resume the download any time. You can then also run the dlm only.

Good news:
It is not the App Store client's fault.

Bad news:
It is my fault
The original 7z is already broken. At least i can not extract it with 7zx which i used to create it.

I come back as soon a working archive is uploaded.

Sorry mate. My fault not to check it before announcing it

Sorry again. fixed.

I can find 3.5 but not 3.9. Is it in some strange category other than "OS"?

Hi,
the problem is a 24hour cache. Normally that time will be used to do checks before announcing (which i didn't ... and payed it with shame )

You can delete the content of your cache folder to force a early refetch.
Else you will see it tomorrow the first time.

EDIT:
We will add a force update function.

@PhoenixKonsole

I have attached a screenshot of the download manager doing a download but not indicating that there is no active task.  Is that a bug?  I can see the light on my router indicating that it is downloading but no on-screen indication other than the word "running" after the title.

I know I'm late to this party, but is there any other download location?

I've been downloading using the store app for the last 4 hours and only have 15%.

I wanted to try it this weekend and at this rate that's not going to happen.

Normally I can get 1.9GB in well under an hour, fast enough that I don't usually have to pay much attention to it.

Update: Hour 9, just shy of 50%

Update 2: Woohoo! 84% after 16 hours

Thanks,
John
