Amiga EMU for xNIX help!
« on: November 23, 2002, 03:38:33 AM »
Just for fun I'm installing LinuxPPC on my old iMac. The problem is I want MAME (xMAME) and the Amiga OS only.

I actually bought (in the US) an A1200 and OS 3.9. Unfortunatly, the ROM CHIP and SCSI interface are too hardto find or are too expensive.

The Mac version of UAE (both OS9 & X) do not have CD-ROM support. This is why I flirting with the idea of emu under Linux.

What do yall think? Yes/No? If so what emulator will facilitate this?

TIA

This doesn't seem like a problem at all.  In fact the AmigaOne boards already ship with LinuxPPC installed, and a version of the UAE emulator that runs under Linux.  I believe that UAE was written for Unix first, MacUAE is actually a port of the Linux UAE.  This is the link to the UAE homepage, which is Linux centric:

Hope that helps.
