I've only had the pleasure of buying a battery for my A4000 but it was totally painless - exceptionally fast service.

My A4000 now keeps perfect time, all the time! Woooo! :-D Ta, AmigaKit.

Awww, makes me feel all warm inside. :-D

Keep up the good work though dude, it's nice (and rare) to see and hear appreciative customers.

I'll add my voice to the chorus - I've bought several items from him, and it all turned up well packed the next day, special delivery.

Extremely helpful, and will go out of his way to give good advice.

Excellent stuff!

I ordered some stuff about 3 weeks ago, but it hasn't turned up yet. But i get a few mails from him, so i guess it's the norwegian tax-morons who use so much time  :pissed:

I also have not had the oppurtunity to buy much from Amigakit, only an antistatic band to ease my paranoia while working inside my 1200, I had been eyeing the Blizzard 1260 they had for several months hoping I'd be able to get it after my final uni exams, unfortunately it sold just before I finished. :(

Still, the antistatic band came very quickly so yeah, I'll add to the praise, and hope to add more if he ever gets a P5 Blizzard 1260 in (and I can afford it at the time).

I just bought HD fans from there last week.

Second time I've ordered from them and they're just great :-)

No problems at all.

And if you order an OS4 mug you get about 6 sheets of bubblewrap absolutely free

I think that the biggest plus of Amigakit compared to any other dealers is that Matthew actually cares about the customer. He really deserves our business and support. (http://www.amiga.org/images/subject/icon14.gif)

That's actually the main reason I bought the HD fans from him.  There were a few other PC shops I could've got them from for a pound or so cheaper, but I thought I'd get them from AmigaKit to show support.

If I need computer stuff that's the first site I visit :-)

I have purchased most of my amiga stuff from amigakit. This is because of the great service, plus the fact I know im going to get the items ive ordered.

Here are the items ive brought:

Amiga 1200. Refurbished

HD cable.

Amiga emulator.

Ive recently orderd a card reader that plugs into the side of the 1200.

Amiga stuff from others:
I got a second hand A600 (my first amiga, but it broke). I had 2 A500's but gave one to a friend. The A500's cost £20 and one came with monitor.

I also got brand new spectrum emulator from a games shop in chester.

 :-)

Tell me what you think of the compact flash adaptor. I ordered one too... it should be here in a few days. I'm impressed, since it took only 6 days from the UK to California! I have like 600MB of .ADF files to play with soon.

Another California customer here and I'll add my voice to the chorus....AmigaKit is great!  Matthew keeps an up to date website where you can see what's in stock which is a major plus!  Add to that the amazing customer service and it really is an excellent choice for Amiga shoppers!

I've gotten a NOS 1200 with a Blizzard 030 w/scsi recently myself!

You don't have to have a paypal account to pay amigakit through paypal.  It's done as a once only type of thing.

Its ONLY A MK-II. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone want to buy *MY* MK-II ? for $600 ?  :madashell:  :madashell:  :madashell:
Title: Re: The stuff ive actually brought of amigakit...

Dude, given the rarity of those cards I don't think the pricing is that unreasonable; expecially given how many of the accelerators that were produced have since died or developed faults.

If you want the price to drop, you can buy the rights to produce the designs from DCE and start your own production run. Until then expect price rises on these things to happen again in the future as they become even rarer.

P.S. Multiple smileys, exclamation marks, question marks and ALLCAPS are really fscking annoying and encourage people to take you less seriously.

Well i am glad you think its okay to artificially inflate a price of a "Refurbished" unit, he probably obtained for alot less on ebay and that he probably just doused with a blast of compressed air, Think about your comment next time you have to replace a piece of Amiga hardware cos it died, so lets start again.. MK-II, with 128MB of ram on offer here for US$850 plus postage.
Title: Re: The stuff ive actually brought of amigakit...
Post by: Vincent on July 11, 2006, 01:26:34 AM
It's been inflated from $548 to $850 already?

I gotta start selling some miggy stuff myself before it bottoms out again :-P

Well lets face it, Winuae is now at a level where is pretty near perfect, or even SURPASSES the original amiga.

The Hardware is always going to be priced at a level of Supply and demand, meaning that its one thing Amigakit asking $548 for the processor card (and yes i am aware it has 128MB ram on it)but he has yet to sell it at that price. but in todays market, what would $548 buy, if its put toward a decent PC system, Its certainly going to buy more in a few weeks, with the iminent release of the Intel Conroe cores and the related AMD 30-50% price cut.

Finances depending, and hardware availability, I can smell a  dual CPU socket motherboard coming.. (Anyone say Quad core ?)

When complaining about the price of refurbished units vs. ebay sales, remember that when you buy a referb you get a years guarantee. Don't want it? buy one off ebay.

You can never surpass the amiga in terms of emulation. It wouldn't be an emulation than.

I don't know AmigaKit because I'm in Italy but it's website is very very good.

In Italy, for me, the best is VirtualWorks that I use. Another good dealer is Soft3...both good dealers.

Dear Vidale (Virtualworks) and Tretene (soft3) thanks for your help and support.

Gotta give a thumbs up to Amigakit :)  I got my Cyberstorm MK2 in the mail the other day and it's now running happily in my A4000T.  An '060 really adds a new dimension to the miggy :)

its a nice shop, just expensive!  Not everything just the things I want are way overpriced! (a bit of a nickle and dime situation)  Also I would not expect anything to show up fast here in the US, esp with the situation right now. I have just waited about a month for a package from england... Nice to have an amiga shop if you realy can't find it on ebay...

Just adding my vote for AmigaKit.  Nice fast service and quick delivery, even to Canada.

It took only one week for my stuff to arrive, including going through the friendly Canadian Border Safety people.

Having some trouble to find a new chip to replace a broken one in my Scandoubler, and Mr. Matthew is giving me a big big help to solve my problem.

Great responsiveness, and great good will.

For sure they are in the best Amiga Dealers of all time list. One of the top ones !

Just about everything I've ordered internationally gets stalled by CBSA.

Yes, they are very professional. Delivery is incredibly fast! Order something and two days later I got it... oh yeah, I am in Canada too and not a major built up area.

And Amigakit is always online here to answer questions and give feedback. They may not have a part or device, but they will make not of it and keep me in mind -- I love that.

Order process is very organised: at every step I know what the status of my order is without even going tothe web site!

Great work guys!

It's possibe to attach pay pal to a credit card only. I do not attach by bank accoutn to pay pal and just use the credit card purchase option <-- me feels much safer that way.
