"I have know idea?. I bought it second hand. It's an original 600mhz G3 AmigaOne. I'll have to read up on what the fixes were."

That sounds like one of the old AmigaOne SE's.  They are pretty much a lost cause as far as USB goes.
Amiga 500 GVP A530 Accel + SCSI2SD + 8 MB RAM and OS 2.04
Amiga 1200 GVP \\\'030 Accel + 32 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Amiga 4000 Cybervision 64/3D Mk-II + Warp Engine 4040 128 MB RAM and OS 3.9 BB3
Micro A1 866 Mhz and AmigaOS 4.1
PowerMac G4 1.4 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9
Mac Mini G4 1.5 Ghz and MorphOS 3.9

Sadly that applies across the board for A-Ones, since they all share the same chipset and associated issues.

The Teron motherboard was never meant to be anything other than a proof of concept/evaluation board. It should never have shipped as a finished product to the public.

No.  Thats not entirely true.  The XE has issues that can be somewhat fixed.  The Micro's were better off but have other limitations.  The SE is pretty much unfix-able.

I have a Micro and USB works fine except for the occasional corruption which is caused by an OS bug.

The progress bar on Workbench is apparently no good indication. I have grown into the habit of waiting an additional minute before removing the thumbdrive and had no data loss since.

why that i wonder. i would likely report the issue, if such was ever the case on my system. on my a4k/deneb ive never been able to get fat95 filesys corrupt even by accidentaly removing the media while writing. in fact there was a hangup issue way back, while in dma mode copying large files (like 100's of mb), but it must have been taken care of after ive reported it. was probably due to newly discovered buster bug. also i must yet buy a stick that doesnt get recognized under poseidon.

Well, it seems that certain combinations of flash drive, motherboard and FAT16 can end up with a corrupt drive after writing data to it. I've never experienced it myself, but I don't trust it too much. Besides, since we're stuck with USB1.1, it's faster for me to shuttle the files across the network anyway. Earlier versions of 4.0 and 4.1 had other issues with some drives, since the most recent updates though I haven't found a drive that didn't mount, including USB hard drives, memory card adaptors, flash drives etc.

Motherboard issues are another thing altogether - as was said here the XE is somewhat repairable - mine doesn't show any hardware-related issues, but the SE seems to be worse off by all accounts. You could always buy a compatible USB PCI card and use that, or some people have had some luck plugging a powered USB hub into the rear ports and just using that for flash drives instead of the ports on the machine.
