Mediator and Voodoo Banshee
« on: October 29, 2002, 05:04:16 AM »
I have a Voodoo banshee card hanging around in an old PC, I was wondering if I could use it in a mediator and get 3D, or are there only 2D drivers available like the Voodoo 4 and 5

No drivers for the banshee have been released, not even 2d ones so atm you wont be able to use that card.

but keep hold of it, someday we may be able to use it! (i have a sb128 waiting here for such a day also!)

Sorry to disagree with you there Bifford,

but the Voodoo Banshee is supported by the 2D drivers on the Mediator
board. I am however unsure if the Warp3D drivers support what there is
is of the 3D side on the card.

To see what cards are supported have a look at the following URL:

http://www.elbox.com/mediator_driver_guide.html

(Or on my MEdiator site shortly)

I am just gonna rip out the VooDoo 3 3000 AGP that I put on my sisters computer awhile back for when I ever buy AmigaONE board and AmigaOS 4. What a step it will be for me since all I have ever played with is a 68030/50mhz and AGA!  :-o

I thought it was a big step from a PPC 180mhz + Bvis :-)  but you will have a quantum leap not a step ;-)

I have a Voodoo banshee in my a1200 - mediator setup at the moment, and it seems to work quite well for 2D, but as has already been said here, the 3d drivers do not work.
