Title: A dungeon and dragons game ...
Post by: rednova on February 25, 2017, 02:20:13 AM
Hi :
Sometime ago, I asked here what kind of games amigans want to play.
So to make the right game people want.
But I have something to share.
I love dungeons and dragons games. Is my favorite game.
Is the kind of game I like.
That's the kind of game I want to make for amiga.
The money and the success does not matter to me.
I want to make new d&d games for amiga, that's what I love.
But instead of rehashing the game I made before, I will make
a new, different game, started from scratch.
I just love d&d and that's what I want to make.
Any thoughts about this ?

I played alot more Ultima than D&D but I fondly remember playing Eye of The Beholder on my Amiga 1000:)

So making a new D&D style game for our miggies is an awesome idea and it's always easier to get into something you personally enjoy so good luck and have fun:drink:

I would definitely love a good RPG that would allow me to sit down and play for hours on my Amiga. I still own a large number of the AD&D titles that were released on the Amiga and enjoy playing newer incarnations of the genre ie. Pillars of Eternity.

I run pen and paper D&D games and other similar games often, so I could help with overall plot. I am also a software engineer so I could help out there too. Finally, in some respects, like klxr300, I played a lot of Ultima games. I'd like to see a new D&D game in the vein of ultima 4/5 for the Amiga.

I still play first edition AD&D on occasion (again, because I'm old and don't like change), I 'd LOVE to see a newish D&D game on my Amiga.

Hi:

I have something to add.
This project is completely non-profit.
The game will be released for free to everyone that wants it.
I am just making it because I love d&d and amiga.
Cheers !!!

@rednova (http://www.amiga.org/forums/member.php?u=4741)

I was a big fan of Hero Quest: the board game. Ishar was as close to a D&D Amiga game I got. Something like that would be good.

Ive never played D&D so dunno what the hype is about.  I think the closest game I would have played on the Amiga is Bards Tale.  or maybe something arcade style woudl be gauntlet ?

Isometric perspective I think is better than first person view for D&D games.  Used on everything from SSI Gold box games like Curse of the Azure bonds to Baldur's Gate.  And if you allow for different resolutions you can just increase the viewable area rather than have to have draw high detail things then scale back for low resolution.

I *still* play the SSI Gold Box games.  Also DragonStrike (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DragonStrike_(video_game)), if anyone remembers that one.  It wasn't the best ported (PC version was 256 colors, Amiga version was only 32), but I still tell people about it.  A dragon combat flight simulator, what a concept!

I used to love Dragonstrike.  If I remember correctly, there was a godawful port to the NES, too.

Over the years you where willing to make Amiga animations, music, games and all the rest.... did you ever make any of it ?

@ Over the years you where willing to make Amiga animations, music, games and all the rest.... did you ever make any of it ?

I have a few dozen pictures I recently made with Brilliance on my amiga 2000.
Before my amiga 1200 went defective, I made many 3d animations with aladdin 4d.
I started learning to use moviesetter, so I can make new cartoon style
animations.
I made a couple songs with Octamed. I have been using amos professional for many years
and made a game many years ago.
I love Brilliance very much, and plan on combining it with moviesetter to create
new animations.
Love !!!
