Agreed, Dune II needs a stock A1200 to be fun.  Even so it is a bit laggy with switching from the build select screen to main playing screen compared to the PC.  Just like Wing Commander was sold as an OCS game but really needed a A1200 to be a pleasant experience! Why not make these games AGA in the first place?

No need for AGA, runs pretty well on stock A1200 and with a 030 is a dream :-)
ADS was extremely playable on A1200 too.

What I mean is; as it requires a 020 14Mhz for speed why not upgrade the graphics to an AGA screen mode while you're at it. The CD32 version of Wing Commander looks far better than the A500 version but wasn't available to A1200 owners until the WHLoad installer become available! What a waste :-(

+1. Also second the votes for the SSI "Gold Box" games (Pool of Radiance, etc.) if you like that kind of game.

Also tossing in a vote for Battle Squadron. You can find clips of all these games on YouTube to see if they perk your interest. :)

I have never played them but surely Super Turrican 1 & 2 on the SNES give the Amiga versions a run for their money?

Just looked up a quick YouTube video - the SNES versions don't even look like the same game.  I might be slightly biased, but IMHO the Amiga version is still better.  ;)
