Would something like this work on a classic Amiga?
« on: January 22, 2013, 02:59:34 PM »
I have been playing super hexagon a lot and I was wondering if something similar could be pulled off with say an AGA Amiga. It's something that wouldn't have seemed out of place back in the day.

Looks like an effect you might see in an intro so I'd say it's possible.

The core gameplay mechanics of a surprising number of modern games could easily be done on an Amiga.

There is an Amiga version and even an Atari65XE.
I saw it a few days ago on a longlpay.
I am searching the name.

Possible without doubt check out Psyborg :) Fast and playable on OCS so a game like super hexagon would be running great on Amiga :)

Edit: Vince_6 - would be nice to know what game you were talking about :)

Vince_6 knew of one, hoping for a reply from him. The one closest I could think of was Psyborg, tho some elements of S.T.U.N Runner maybe is a bit similar gameplay but as far as I remember S.T.U.N Runner was no good on Amiga but decent on Arcade (never tried the C64 version).

Psyborg, well sorry for the delay. You are right, this was. I found also on Atari 8bit, it's a new game called Yoomp! Quite amazing.

iTunes, Android Market and the Microsoft store are full of games that are comparable to Amiga games of the olden days.  eg: Worms and Angry Birds.
