Teac FD-235HF (341-U) on a500
« on: July 12, 2005, 04:23:36 PM »
Hello guys, i have read on this board and in other pages on the net that certain Teac dd drives can work with the amiga 500 setting properly the jumpers. Well i have searched and googled through the net but cannot find info on the jumnpers of a spare pc drive i have. It´s a Teac FD-235HF (341-U), and is a dd pc drive. Have heard that almost all teac drives could be configured through jumpers to work with amiga computers, so i´m asking here.
Ineed your help urgent as my a500 chinon original floppie seems to begin to die!!!!!!!.
This Teac drive has in the back a lot of jumpers, and i try to show how are they:

 ***E
 ***D
 ***C
 ***B
 ***A
3***2 DS
1***0

Asterisks are the pins, and are three jumpers that take two of the pins in each line. For example, D has the two pins taken with the jumper, B and 0 the same, i suppose that the last, the 0 is for setting the drive as drive 1(as is taking the two pins with the jumper).
I cannot fin any info on the pins of this drive, and have searched a lot i the net.
Hope this could be of help.
Thanks in advance!!!!!

Not sure if this helps, but I had this file saved.

TEAC   FD-235F   Low-density drive. Has 6 setting jumpers-MS, IR, RY, DC, D1, D0. To make it work, put jumpers on RY, DC & D0.
TEAC   FD-235HF3823 Has a grid of setting jumpers, with 4,3,2,1 from left to right and ABCDEFG from bottom to top. To make it work, put jumpers from 1A to 1B, 3A to 3B, 4C to 3C, 4E to 3E and 4G to 3G. Also short the "Frame Ground" jumper, which sits to the upper left of the main jumper grid. Also see: illustrated configuration.

I think the drive models listed below only work.  See below.
