Indeed a mess. I´m glad it´s not me that has to go messing around with that MPU. At least it looks like there is one complete CD32 motherboard.

Do you know why the chips from the upright motherboard has been removed?

I bought an A1200 motherboard "as-is", "untested", but "assumed working" on eBay and it was missing chips like that.  :-(  Now, I'm smarter and know the following:

"as is" == "broken in more than two pieces"
"untested" == "I tested it and it didn't work"
"assumed working" == "assuredly doesn't work"

I later resold two such boards I had but with full disclosure of the missing chips, etc.  Net loss of about $40 on the pair.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

unfortunately chips are very expensive and there are no new ones being made(?) so one day all our Amigas will stop working, except for UAE  :-(  :-(  :-(
Better sorry than worry.

I also love the "appears complete" in the same description as "no controller or power cord or remote" etc... I've seen that on a number of CD32 units from "we got this in a pallet of stuff" sellers.

Eeeek  :-o  :-o  :-o  :-o
Is that A1200 with the "reworked" keyboard MPU the same one you were asking about with reset problems?

Mind you, if you've ever seen my poor suffering A1200, you'd be suprised that the little bugger still works fine :-D

BTW Chain, if your friend is anywhere near Zlin, I know some people that'll teach him not to do that again to any Amiga
On schedule, and suing

My old (dead) CD32 looks worse but I did attack it with a blowtorch to practice removing SMT devices!  :-P

Chain,

Did you check the voltage levels on the KB_RESET line like I said in the other thread?

Jeez!

I thought my A1200 was abused, especially after I managed to get power to the motherboard via the floppy power socket!  Amazingly enough, it still works...

I have to say that Amiga hardware seems much more robust than PC hardware in my experience.  I've managed to fry a PC motherboard and CPU, but both my butchered A1200s continue to work away happily.
