1999 edition of AmigaForever. How to get online?
« on: March 31, 2006, 02:30:44 AM »
Hi guys! Glad to see amiga.org still going strong. It was a fave site to visit a while back. :)

I've resurrected my AmigaForever software from 1999 and am wondering how to get the Amiga emulation to use the net? I'm using E-UAE 0.86 and Hi-Toro on a G5 Dual Core tower.

I can't find any bsdsocket or whatever Cloanto references on their web site. Would a demo download of Miami or AmiTCP work?

Thanks in advance.

For one thing you can download version 8.28 of EUAE.  If it's any indication of how EUAE works, WinUAE has BSDSocket.library emulation built right in to the emulator so you shouldn't need an Amiga TCP stack.

On WinUAE there is a switch you have to set in the configuration to make the BSDSocket emulation work.

I found bsdsocket.library in the companion SDL library installation archive. This prevents AmiIRC and IBrowse from complaining about no stack being available, but there's still no connection.

How do I configure DHCP settings or whatever?
