Buddha Phoenix Questions
« on: April 24, 2009, 09:07:44 PM »
Got this controller today, but have some questions as manual for this controller seems to not exist :

- in my A3000T, should it be inserted into Zorro soctet "as-is" or upside-down ?
- where is pin1 located ? (don't know how to connect ribbon)
- which IDE connector from these two is primary and which secondary ?
- does it works with DVD drives or only CD ?

Thnks for reply.

Keep looking for a manual for it as I am pretty sure if you install it backwards in the Zorro slot you will ruin it and maybe damage your Amiga.

It will work with any IDE DVD drive, but to write to a DVD you need to have capable software.

Sorry I don't have time to research this more for you, but the info should be out there somewhere.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

The Buddha card I used to have was installed face up, upside down would not be good.  In a previous thread here on Amiga.org Darrin stated that he had done this (by mistake) with a Buddha Gold edition.  End result card required fixing.
Assuming you're looking at the card with the zorro edge connector part at the bottom the following should be the case:
Ide port 0 is the one closest to the top edge of the card.  Port 1 is the lower connector closer of the two to the zorro connector.  Pin 1 for the two connectors is to the right, pin 40 to the left.

Also the Buddha is capable of use any reader, even DVD.

It will not work with recorders (CD or DVD).
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

I have spent almost 2 whole days hunting for a manual on-line. One does not exist ANYWHERE! I wish you better luck than what I had. I got so PO'ed with it I ended up selling it.
I have Amiga stuff for sale at http://amigalounge.com. You can follow my builds there also.
