060 and amospro
« on: August 12, 2007, 06:09:41 PM »
Dear Friends:

I have an a1200 with 030/50 accelerator. I use my amiga mainly for two things, aladdin 4d (3d animation) and amospro
. Amospro runs super...but aladdin 4d is a bit slow.
I would love to get a 060 accelerator to get the most out of aladdin 4d...it would be a godsend. If I get an 060, will amospro still run fine?
Thank you!!!

I was under the impression AMOS is not system friendly and has many problems on later CPUs.

I actually had a few problems with AMOS applications on my 030 :-/

Are you writing AMOS code? Maybe you should give C a try. Like me....

(yes Im still looking at it though I dont have much time to spare on it)
I love my MX5!

AmosPro runs fine on my A4000 and A1200 with 68060 CPU.
No problems at all.

@Mel_Zoom

I think it may be a little late in life for Rednova to start on C.  And the problems with AmosPro are mostly related to the graphics chipset banging the hardware so that graphics cards won't work without a system-friendliness extension such as IntOS.
