Yes the game will have some cool equipment, and the possibility of airstrikes (probably), but
as people have been saying it wasn`t a very clean war. Not that WWII was, but Vietnam was just
chaos. Drugged up Americans with M16s against civilians arms with kitchen knives and soup bowl. I`m
not sure I want this game.

I like realism in games, but if this were realistic it would be disgusting.I bet the Americans win in the end.

another overused game concept hits the developers, why cant they just focus on pLaybility? , sure i havent seen it and it might be good....but i dont expect it to be, all theese new fps games makes me sick, its like in 93 when we all was sooooooooo damned sick over thoose plattformers.

sure i like the idea of total intaeractive player in the field, but hahaha when was war actually fun? i mean in the realistic way?

fast and furios action has always been my catagory, like uT for 1 example...i never grow sick of that game , kinda weird really but i guess it has alot to do with great level designs and superb playbility, Ut2003 wasnt as good ;(

ah well i think i am too old for the new games anyway, i like em abit simple and fast....not slow and good looking.

Whats up with all the hate!

Uhoh...! The CIA might think your groceries are code for some Communist/Terrorist plan to take over the world and have you assassinated!

Either that or you might have a dodgy phone line. But that's unlikely.

Big Brother is watching. ;-)

Wouldn't this be a cool WAD for it?

(Disclaimer: This link it not to a game wad, but to a historical site which contains disturbing pictures not suitable for those of a sensitive nature! You have been warned!)

(Sorry people, but I'm gonna hammer this into you whether you like it or not - War is hell, not a computer game.)

FPS's are all about killer graphics... noone is sick of them... the public eats them up and asks for more... look the anticipation of Doom3? or UT2003?...

Yes, those bastards should not get away with advertsing broadband like the way they do,

UNLIMITED? more like LIMITED,

As for this talk about games, games sell hardware, if Amiga had a fraction of games today (not 90s ports)  people would be buying Amiga hardware.

Hey guys,

So they're making a game called Men of Valour?  Are they sure they got the right war?!?  ;-)

Anyway, I'm a Battlefield 1942 addict which I think stomps all over MOH.  There's really nothing like swooping down with a light bomber and taking out an enemy tank on Wake Island or smashing through enemy lines with a Panzer IV in Tabruk or paratrooping down behind enemy lines in Market Garden or machine gunning endless beach stormers on Omaha Beach...  And the best part is that every other player is an actual human player online so you can coordinate attacks, call in artillery or air support, scream out for medics when you're hurt or rush to assist others with your bazooka.  Sometimes I get a kick out of just laying mine fields on bridges, other times I like to snipe plane campers or torpedo battleships....  It's great fun!!!

I do sometimes sit back and think of what this game is really about....  Is it right to make games that turn real life events of death and destruction into entertainment? Does it trivialize the misery that those people went through? Probably, I'd feel weird playing this game infront of a WWII vet, especially if they were at one of the main battles that a game like BF1942 tries to recreate.  Luckily most WWII vets are dead or dieing.  Vietnam vets are still around and thus might be more likely to complain - but then again they're probably used to being kicked around and treated like ####.

I do however wonder what people would think if I made a 9/11 simulator?  It's just a game right?  It's just entertainment isn't it? Somehow I don't think that would go over very well.  Oh well, I'll just stick with BF1942 and not worry about it...

Who knows, perhaps you get to run around as a gook, hiding out in rice fields waiting for the GI's to come and kill you?

We were not in support of this gastly beast. Our leaders knew what was best however. And now we are still paying the price for that humilating display of military power.

There is nothing "Valorous" about Vietnam. It was a sin against humanity.

Well said. However, I can't help enjoying movies and games like Platoon.
Classics.

-I know that one, it's "The Prisoner" from the year 1982 !!!

Platoon is a classic film. Thing about that film is that the Americans don`t really come out on top. I`m betting the game will make the leading character some kind of super-hero, and give the impression that America was doing right and that they sort of won, though they didn`t.
