@rvo_nl

I would prefer some good 2d games for 030, 040, 060... I think it's still possible to make "modern" 2d games on classics that don't look bad today. There are not so many 2d games that take advantage of accelerators and extra ram (Napalm requires accelerator but was quite slow on AGA... it looked as it was designed for chunky screens). Lo-Res high qualityplanar games would be perfectly possible.

I would love something like Diablo I on Amiga but I doubt AGA would be enough to move so many graphics on a 640x480 screen at 25fps. It would require quite a lot of optimizing or RTG directly.

If you like 3D racing there's already WipeOut2097. ;-)

I'd love to play some good SHMUPs on the Amiga. They are few and far inbetween. Someone should consider porting Gradius or Salamander from the MSX and add smooth scrolling, more colors and get rid of the slow-down. The 1942 clone presented above looks terrible from the screenshot, to be honest. The high resolution graphics don't really add anything interesting, and just seem to make the game look silly, especially with the colorful aircraft. But that's just my opinion of course, and I very much appreciate the effort to bring something new to the Amiga gaming scene!

Gotta say that Joyride is a joke, fun factor is -10, Flyin high and xtreme racing are fun games.

I would say that minium spec would be 040 and aga.

Something like Nascar 1 would be nice, PC requirements are 33 mhz 486 and it would still be best looking amiga car game.

http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/3/29093/nascar2_790screen004.jpg

My personal all time favorit is Carmageddon 1 :)

http://image.com.com/gamespot/images/screenshots/0/196870/carma_790screen003.jpg

Would it be possible to use modified doom/hexen engine for car game?

BUT gotta be realistic, there is no sense to port /create game that requires too much horse power.

Ideal would be if it could use already working and fast game engines.

Resident evil 1 clone would be nice and possible even with 030.

How about this, source, binary and datafiles

I dont think anyone explicitly mentioned MSX (but we did mention R Type and Ys!), but what is MGS?   Do you mean just Metal Gear or Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake?

Metal Gear Solid wasn't until playstation :D

That might be neat.  I can't recall any good espionage games on Amiga.   If there is one and I've missed it, tell me!

GodDamnit!!! I forgot it... MG2 Solid Snake, is not the same than Metal Gear Solid.
XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I meant the MG games on MSX2, they could be ported adding better features and
and improved engine than the old 8bit Z80 one. :D

I would like Jagged Alliance ported to Amiga or a completely new game in the series. Man, I love those games...

Indeed JA was a great game, and i do believe the complete series could be ported to
the Amiga. JA, and JA DG could run on a 030 for sure.

Yeah, the Amiga obviously lacks alot of the Japanese gaming world's good titles.  Good horizontal shmups would be awesome.  Sorry but Menace doesn't cut it.

I don't know how you could really improve MG2 though.   Yeah it's a z80, but the hell if they didn't make Metal Gear 2 one polished masterpiece and a half.

Anything Konami--->Amiga would *have* to have their SCC soundchip sampled in for the leads, or it would be really stupid, to be honest.   It isn't Konami, but R Type was awful as far as music goes....

and Contra.... >_> yikes.

it was pretty bad man.

If you don't appreciate games like Shadow of the Beast or Turrican for their time, I'm not exactly looking forward to a game made by you.

yeah wipeout 2097, that was a great conversion! I would like to see some more games that utilise my ppc card, but thats ofcourse personal preference :) seriously, apart from some fast 3d stuff, I'd prefer some good old 2d adventure more than anything else. isnt there some SCUMM game that could be converted easily?

btw, does anyone remember that resident evil hoax that was released many years ago? it had potential though!

euhhhhh.

Shadow of the Beast is my favorite Amiga game? Herpderp?

and "for its time", I still think Turrican is meh in comparison to some other games.  It's not my style.  Sue me.  Nice music and graphics though.  I have all the turrican .sid's on my ipod...

man.

Thats a shitty thing to say y'know.  It's not like one needs to be a pro at all genres as far as development.  It's not like you see SSI pumping out high-action shooters....

I have heard of some of them, but only played Flashback and Another World (aka Out Of This World). My favourite Amiga games include Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, MegaBlock 2 and erm some risque title which I can't remember the name of - you start off in an apartment and can go into the shower where you see a digitized topless woman (your character?) in the shower! It's a very small image mind you.

What game? hmmm that's a tough one.

It's like asking what car  people would like to buy..> everyone's got different tastes.

I rekon if you do something You like, and it's good enough, gamers will go for it.

The amiga is great for retro gaming so maybe an updated retro game would be a good choice. Personally i'd like a film-tie in game, something like robocop 3 with different levels or even an updated version of 'The killing Cloud' (no tie-in with current events intended!) or even a 3d shooter like 'Virus' from the Archimedes and Amiga vesion.

Failing that, how about a transforming robot toaster that fights other transforming houshold objects eh? :)
That's enough of my way-out suggestions, good luck with it! :)

What kind of new games do people want to see on the Amiga?

Chaos Engine 3

but anything with a strong steampunk theme and lots of shooting will help. :)
Falling into a dark and red rage.
