It might be the one person complaining about it to the world. but it doesn't mean that there won't be others that won't have gone through this. In fact I sure that I have seen some complain on their site that this has happened to them too. Though, as if by magic, a week later one has turned up.

Wow, the blatant cash-grab from a Florida furniture retailer with delusions of grandeur turned out to be less than perfectly ethical? Who would have guessed?

Oh, that's right. Everyone.

I would like it if they made an Amiga 600 or 1200 replica. I just can't see my self using the Commodore 64 keyboard.

except that not everybody posts on that site (I've never even heard of it until this thread), and I don't even see anyone in that thread that has ordered another one.  It's like looking on Ford sites from people complaining about their Toyota.

Are you kidding me?  I too don't read reddit, but I am aware of it and it is in fact one of the top 1000 websites in the world.  It gets massive traffic.

I think your analogy just doesn't work.  If I have any problems with merchants, I go online and search for people with the same problem.  It is a totally natural thing to do, I have no doubt if there are others in this predicament then they would find their way there.  Reddit is all things to all people, not a specialised Toyota forum.

Don't you think if Piru could find more cases he would have posted them too????

I'm no fan of commodoreusa, but I don't see the point in beating on them for something that appears to be isolated and could happen to any company.  So far this is not indicative of a systemic problem.

I'm not really clear on the purpose of this thread other than to create seasoned panic against C=USA.

Just because some customers order hasn't been fulfilled doesn't mean there are major problems with the company.

There seems to be people actively willing the company to fail and that seems unhelpful to put it mildly.

Yes their prices are high but it seems they are targetting a specific market; producing in low quantity will always result in high prices whatever the commodity.

Let's not forget here that C=USA are basically representing us Amiga users - like it or not, people outside this community will tar us with the same brush as the C=USA people. So if C=USA rip people off, then it makes the real Amigas (whatever they may be) look bad.

But that's not their target. According to them they're aiming at very high quantities (and high prices).

As for why not more people are complaining - that's easy. It's not because other people didn't get what they paid for, it's because hardly anyone stumped up the cash in the first place!

I haven't really been following the whole Commodore USA thing too much but whatever you think about the way they do business, you have to give them credit for a least getting a 'new' HW product produced and in punter's hands.

Except this Punter.  (Isn't that a transfer protocol?)

I have read plenty of people who have gotten their 64X and VICs and the reviews have been mixed.  As stated somewhere else, the magic was in the discovery at the time they originally existed.  Anything else is just a boob job.

I just can't help but find it funny that this overpriced PC "gives you that 80's buzz" and then up comes an AMT BIOS screen. At that point the buzz would just die for me.

Better off with a Keyrah and a C64 case with your own mobo choice (maybe a Minimig). Cost a lot less too and is arguably more genuinely Commodore.

As far as I'm concerned CUSA is a stain on a once great name but as far as the customers go, well if you pay that sort of cash for a PC of that spec your a freakin' moron and I don't give a damn if you get screwed. I have no time for such idiocy.

For true C64 fanatics, ebay for a C64 or a C one at 333 Euros are far better options anyway.

I don't think they sold enough for that. Not judging by the tiny number of people on their own official forum.

Until we see real sales figures instead if one's that are made up, I'm suspecting they sold well under a thousand.

And by the. way, this is far from the first time I've read about this happening. Such a shame to see this done to such an iconic name....

They've sold enough that they still share a phone number with a Bathroom Fixtures company and a fax number with a Therapist.

That's a load of shít. Tons of companies produce products, doesn't make them good companies. CUSA has been abrasive and arrogant to the CBM/Amiga community, they're selling mediocre hardware with poor industrial design for well over its actual worth, they've mislead about their OS "vision," and their Dear Leader is an ******* with delusions of grandeur. They've long outstayed their welcome, and it's time to stop pretending.

AskReddit: Commodore USA has my money - I have no computer. They won't communicate. What are my options?

Not defending CUSA.. but I can honestly say that I have sent them 3emails asking for information on the Vic computer line with no reply.  I posted on Commodore-Amiga.net and got a reply.  CUSA is I believe changing websites and not sure if emails are getting through.
I just assume CUSA is very busy atm, and probably a little bit understaffed?? I'm just passing on what I know.  Be patient, I guess is all I can really say.  Try to take a deep breath, I know easy for me to type, but you will get your machine I am sure of it.
But there really is no excuse for them not responding to a "paid" customer.  What model did you buy??
