Problem with Amithlon and VESA

I've installed Amithol in a secondary hard disk (Win in primary) with a geforce4. If i use boot from cd i can use only 640x480 8bit screenmode, also if i boot from hd, i only can use 640x480. I have change the VESA settings in the "small" file and when amithlon starts, after gfx reboot it crush. Is there a way to use a 24 (or32bit) resolution on my Geforce4 (or on a voodoo3 pci)? :-(

I'm not sure what you mean about the small file.

I had the same problem, but installing the latest updates from amithlon.net fixed it for me. I now have Amithlon running in 1024x768x32.

I'm afraid but at the time there are no specific drivers for either the Voodoo 3 nor the GeForce 4 GFX card. In my PC I had a Voodoo 3 3500 TV PCI GFX card and have not been able to run AMITHLON with that card, it was definitely a HW problem with the card. So, at the end I resorted at installing a new GeForce 2 card as from this board it appeared to be one of the few GFX cards suitable for use with AMITHLON (and one of the few being actually fully supported. unlike the Voodoo 3 and the GeForce 4). the latter would probably be supported in the future but for the time being if you want to use AMITHLON with resoultions as high as 1280x1024 you'll have to use a GeForce 2 card.
