When I open a thread, I get to the last post directly. When I open a thread, I want to start with the first post. Getting to the last post automatically is a bit annoying, especially if there is several pages.

But everything else looks very nice.

A week ago I would have agreed with you. But now I am getting used to this way, and this is really a nice feature when you follow a particular thread. It's only when you open the thread for the first time you want to read it from the very beginning.

But having this as a selectable option would be nice though ...

Perhaps xoops could keep track of the number of times a user has visited a thread (a new xoops feature, perhaps as a selectable option)? If it is the first time then the thread is displayed from the very beginning, otherwise it shows latest post (or the post that was the latest at the time the user last visited the thread) ...?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I agree, and like a lot of the new features, we must expect a certain lack of comfort until we have accepted the change.

The thing you have to ask yourself is, will you be happy with it in 6 months, and in most cases following these changes, the answer is yes.

Absolutely! :-)

Another suggestion (I suspect that amiga.org developers are watching this thread) is to make the "PM Inbox" more visible when you get "mail". Perhaps it should be a big bright red square with thick borders (or something) to the left when you get a new PM so you won't miss it?

Yeah the last message first _really_ bugs me too.  Should be configureable. I agreee it would be nice to have it atuomatically go to the next new message from the last time it was viewed. (Always have problems figuring out where I was last with the Cybervision cards being repaired at DCE post that goes on forever)

and btw, wouldnt it be nice, say there is a long thread, you could switch pages at the top of the page aswell?

Feature request implemented.  Should work in flat mode... if it's needed in threaded or nested just let us know.

I agree that its a lot less noticeable than before, inasmuch as new messages have gone unread for a while because I was wasn't aware of them
