Hey -- their site was just updated TODAY!

When I was an Amiga user (I miss those days, but I love my new MacBook!), I used them almost exclusively....always great to deal with. I even went over to their place a couple of times when they were in West Chester....seriously, their warehouse was an Amiga-lover's dream...

I've bought from them in the past with no problems.  Bought an Quikpak 060 accelerator for my A4000T a few years ago.  Web page might not be up to date though.  I just emailed them and asked questions before ordering.

I tried to buy an A4000T case from them today; alas, he can't get them anymore. But he told me he has boxed new old stock A4000Ts for $1069 and up. I'd buy one now if I had the dough and hadn't just bought a motherboard off of fleabay. Btw, if anyone knows where I can get a case that an A4000T mb will fit in, please let me know.

$1,069 for an A4000T w/6mb RAM and an 040 I bet.  Too steep for my blood, but it would be nice to have a nice shiny new A4000T.

I wonder how long they will keep them at that price and how many they have, 1, 2, half dozen?  No more than that I would think.

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Just a recent experience to share with Software Hut.  They have apparently sold out all of their classic Amiga game software, but just haven't removed the listings yet.  All that they have left game wise are some newer titles on CD-Rom.  They are good at responding to e-mails, but sadly there just isn't much left worth inquiring about.

What items are you looking for?

We have a lot of software (4x shelf-racks worth) that hasn't yet been added to our webstore.  So much to do, so little time...

From Software Hut's website,

Quote
Greetings

i

The site you are looking for should be up yet today. Due to a transformer fire and explosion at our colocation facility in Houston Texas, The Planet, our server was damaged. 9000 servers were knocked off line for varying lengths of time. Among other components, our hard drive was ruined when a backup generator was installed and it malfunctioned. Along with the hard drie, a new version of the OS was installed. We are recompiling and updating the software packages to match the new OS. Thanks for you patience.

I'll add my experience just for reference -

Software Hut is a reliable vendor but you have to email them to see what they have. They don't spend time updating the site as I'm sure the Amiga business is a side line for them.

My ROMS and OS 3.9 came in quickly and when the ROMs ended up being the same one, they quickly sent me out the correct rom to pair with one of them.

AmigaKit is definetely the more active organization but in the US shipping times are a lot quicker from Software Hut.
I think, Therefore - Amiga....

I've ordered twice from Joe, and he was very fast and communicative also. The products of course in excellent condition. Anyway because of the fire, I didn't get an email reply from him. But to tell the truth the most active Amiga-shop is AmigaKit. Just keep up the great work you are doing there. ;-)
