Title: Where is my photo
Post by: orange on September 09, 2004, 12:56:22 PM
I posted a photo of A500 RAM expansion, but someone removed it. What happened? I put a lot effort in scanning it and noone posted a single comment. :-(

It might have gotten mixed up in the recent Doomy unpleasantness.  I got e-mails from several people who demonstrated to my satisfaction that he had stolen the images he uploaded, so I deleted everything I saw with his name on it to avoid a situation similar to the long-forgotten Kevin Hisel/DCMA scenario.

If that's the case here, please accept my apologies and feel free to re-upload the image in question.

He stole the pics of the A500 tower conversion?
I, and several others, complimented him about that...

I feel violated

Not particularly of that.  Mostly images of stock parts which were on ebay created by other people.

Let's NOT start yet another "let's talk about Doommaster" thread here.  It is not warranted.  This is about what happened to the original poster's pictures and that alone.

I realize that this is an alien concept, but stay on topic please.

How long does it take from I submit a photo before it gets available online, as I can't seem to relocate the photo I just added.

Ok, I shan't talk of 'him'. With all due respect, its difficult to constrain oneself to a discussion about where a picture of a RAM expansion disappeared to, and alas threads do 'evolve'. The subsequent posters aren't talking about the disappearance of the RAM expansion photo either are they?
Sorry, that wasn't meant to be a whinge, if it came across as one :-)

As soon as a moderator notices it, they generally review and approve it immediately.  In this case, now.

With respect, that *is* the point.  If you have nothing to say regarding the subject at hand, then it's probably best to "constrain yourself" (speaking generically, not to you) to not speaking at all in that particular topic.

That is, after all, why "topics" exist rather than just one 199627 post thread with a "say whatever the hell you feel like" mentality.

:-)

On any submission, I'd say 24 hours turn around. Depends on when we're logged in and how much the submission needs to be looked over. Anything deemed questionable will take longer as it has to be researched and talked over with other staff. I may not get posted. If you have any questions on a submission just as one of the admins or use the contact us link under System Info on the left.
