Rick Dangerous lives!!!
« on: August 29, 2003, 06:39:57 AM »
I don't know if anyone had heard of this or not, but it should be ported to the Amiga! Infact I am VERY curiuos why it has not already since it has its roots there!

Anyhow here is the home page for the Computer, and the recent Dreamcast versions of XRick.

 Emjoy!

I didn't try it out yet on the Amiga (but I played xrick on linux
sometime ago ... I always loved Rick Dangerous), but the game's site
says it runs on Amiga, not that it will be ported :) So maybe, you
want to take yourself five minutes and compile it ;-)

I just noticed there's a MorphOS binary available at http://www.amiga.com.pl/data/files/morphos/xrick.lzx

uh... Why play a clone on the AMIGA when the real deal is just a floppy disc away?

hm, come to think about it, those aliens are going to meet Rick again. *boots the ol' A500*

desolator , well my orginal rick dangerous floppys + the installed whd versions still doesnt open in a window mode nor with ps2 pad support nor in 8/16/24/32 bit modes...nor with shade'd gfx etc :)

so dont slay a product until u actually have seen it or looked into it :) , though it wont do all i mentioned atm, eventually it might.

anyway i love it ...still after this long...playing it on my wb while i am at irc etc....FUN!..

nothing beats the really classic old games in lifespan/innovatity etc...

now if only whdload was rtg :) .....yUMMY! :)

cheers

Oh, I guess there is an Amiga port, though the latest version has not been ported yet. Well that is definatly good news, but I don't know how to compile on the Amiga, and I am not sure I have to tools to do it either.

As for why play XRick when there is classic Rick. Simple and Plain. New Levels. :)

Yay! The MorphOS port works perfect at least. Very cool, wonder how I could have missed this before... :-)
