But why? I would much rather play Amiga games on a real Amiga.

And wouldn't you need a chipped Xbox to run the emulator on it from CD-R?  Not a good idea when you thing about M$'s current stance on mod chips.  Just look at what they did to Lik-Sang.

Retro is hot, everything that is old is cool at the moment ...

I even saw some pc cd-rom at the store with old Amiga games .... the title of the cd-rom was Amiga.

Oh....

After an intense game of Halo on-line you could pick up Alien Breed 3D.  :-D

Any chance of running AOS4 on a gamecube then? :-P
I hear it uses a 485MHz PPC. Can’t be too hard to clone to. :smack:

Hey, even if it is a joke, it's something to think about. Amiga just went into parternship with Microsoft in particularly games. If anything, Microsoft would love to get a foothold in the games market. That is the only area they do not have dominion. Amiga, on the other hand, needs to get something cooking quick. I can see this as a marrage of convenience. And as we know, Microsoft can't really create anything in terms of software, they steal it.

You would definately need a mod chip. There's no way around that.

Xbox won't read CD-R's either.

You know what they say - good artists copy great artists steal...

I don't think MS would dare let nyone play Amiga games on the XBox, they might suddenly realise that they could be playing better games on a machine you can buy for £30 at a car boot sale with a slack handful of games :-D ;-)

Seriously though, I think Amiga getting within 50 miles of Microsoft is a BAD THING. It would be nice to think we might have ONE non-console hardware platform on earth that has nothing to do with Microsoft...

As for the XBox well frankly my dear...

Actually, a Gamecube version of OS4 coupled with a keyboard and mouse would kick ass, simply because of the size of the installed userbase already out there...  :-D

Hmm.. it doesn't have a hard disk though... oh well.. scrap that idea...

Well, according to this page, Iomega is making a hard drive accessory for Gamecube.  But I don't know how valid that is.

Any chance of running UAE on Linux for PS2 then? It doesn’t require any mod chips and comes complete with a hard drive? You can’t read CDR/DVDRs through the main DVD drive but you can transfer files through a network or use an external drive through the USB port. I'm afraid it uses a modified RISC cpu and not an x86 or PPC like the two consoles mentioned above. I don’t know what the associated problems might be. It also only has a limited 32MBs of ram.

It does however come with custom chips and also doubles up as games console. The new amiga perhaps? The matching black keyboard and mouse also look kind of nice.
