WHLoad, Hard Drive, NDOS Floppy Games???
« on: February 21, 2004, 06:13:50 PM »
Here is a real newbie question for anyone who is bored:-

I have a rake of old floppy games and would like to have them on my nice 4GB hard drive so I can return the floppies to the loft (they take up too much space with all their boxes etc).

I have heard of WHLoad but no nothing about it or how to use it.

1. Could someone reply with basic instructions on how to get my SWOS Floppy only copy onto my Hard Drive?

2. Is this the same process for all games supported by WHLoad?
Amiga 1200 / WB3.1 / VIPER II 68030 @ 28 Mhz 64MB / Squirrel SCSI with 2x CDROM / 6.5GB HDD (4GB used due to 4GB limit)

WHDLoad works with *original* disks only (very few installers work with cracks).

A WHDLoad installer is a simple installscript using the Amiga's standard installer GUI. Simply download the appropriate installer from http://www.whdload.de, depack the archive and start the installer by doubleclicking its icon.

You will be guided through the installation process ("insert floppy disk 1 now" etc.), it's not exactly rocket science ;-)

The process is more or less the same for all games.
