Good morning guys,
I'm sitting here looking over the site and all we've accomplished since the great swapover. I can't help but thinking "something" is missing.
What could it be, and what could the site do better (without dragging out the "I miss the old site" dead horse).
Constructive feedback would be appreciated.

You could promise to never ever turn on that immature, fraud-ridden, "reputation system" ever again.
As it stands now, I know about 30 Amiga users who play Total Chaos AGA. They are not members of Amiga.org. But if I was to invite them and tell them about the Social Group they might come.
But I absolutely cannot invite Doctors and Nurses and NASA Employees to come to a forum (Amiga.org) and then suddenly they find all this childishly immature bitchslapping going on. It would reflect very badly on me to involve mature people into such an environment.
As it stands now I have been keeping my social group a secret. It would sure be nice to end the fear.
Thank you for your consideration.

There was nothing whatsoever wrong with it. The problem was with immature users and people histrionically overreacting to the fact that someone can give them negative feedback.

Right. I really hope that was sarcasm.

Yeah, blame the system. Pfft...

You can call it "the system" or "the people" or whatever you want. Whatever it is, it is like Communism, It just doesn't work.
It sounds good on paper but it just doesn't work out in real life. Oh well, time to move on.

Seriously, get over it. It's widely used on other vB forums without any problems. The fact is, the whining tone of posts like this one is precisely the sort of thing that attracts negative feedback in the first place.

Can we get back to the actual topic and stop all the bulls*it about the fact that our user base is -- by in large -- to immature to handle a simple reputation system please?
-
I read two, three forum websites on a regular basis. This is one of very few I participate in. There's nothing missing. I like it very much just the way it is. And I'm starting to enjoy the new items since the upgrade.

Can we get back to the actual topic and ..blablabla
yup - I like the new site - don't miss anything - good work Wayne :-)

Show me a dozen trustable, dependable people who want to volunteer / moderate it 24/7/365 and we might consider it.

Us oldies are still getting used to the last change. Give me a few more weeks before any more changes or I'll have to increase my diazepam dosage.... Sonny

I don't know or can't remember if this has been addressed, but... Comments for the picture gallery posts are something I really miss. There was much history there.

What do you mean? You can add comments to gallery images and the old xoops comments associated with the imported images are there too.

I do not know if this has been mentioned either ...
The top login box, under it there is a checkbox ... this checkbox does not make sense next to the 'Register' text. I therefore assume it means keep me logged in! (or?)
However such text does not appear in IE7 or FireFox!

Oh, you're right. You have to be logged in to see the comments. I guess I never looked at the gallery while I was logged in. I typically log in to post and immediately log out when I'm done, as I'm often on shared terminals.
Since that's resolved, I'd say I miss the mod points system we had.

I'm all out of ideas at the moment but will be sure to post here when I think of any.
What I can say is we probably dont't need any more features just yet. What we need is more activity. Anything that can boost that and get people using the new features would be great.
Competitions maybe?

Thanks, I asked for those URL's months ago and no one responded.
I've added both to the navigation box.
